“Every good and perfect gift comes from above.” James 1:17

Thank you for stopping by!  We pray that this finds you well and that you are able to celebrate this holiday season with your loved ones.  We also hope you enjoy our brief Christmas letter about our year and that you take a moment to leave a comment. We’d love to hear from you. Jeff and Ashley Goins

2009 has been a year full of celebrations.

In January, we celebrated our first anniversary together as a married couple with a weekend trip to Memphis (a city that has really grown on us, due to its restaurants, music, and culture). In February, we enjoyed the company of a couple friends on a special Valentine’s Day, full of great food and fun. In March, we celebrated Jeff’s birthday with a trip to the Adventure Science Center (he likes things like that) and supper at the Genghis Grill (which never gets old).

In April, we rejoiced over our dream jobs, and Jeff got to spend nine days in Costa Rica with his friend Saul, as they both led a mission trip. May marked our transition to a new home, and we enjoyed a belated Christmas present for Ashley’s brother Ahron — a trip to an Atlanta Braves game. June brought us to the Ocoee River in East Tennessee on a weekend church retreat, where Jeff “celebrated” his ability to swim by repeatedly falling out of the boat while white-water rafting. He’s still not living that one down.

In July, we celebrated the Fourth with friends in Georgia and later reminded Ashley of how special she is with a surprise dinner party for her birthday (not to mention other activities of the month: a wedding, a concert, a trip to IKEA, and game night we hosted at our new place). August was a celebration of our new addition to the family (not what you’re thinking) along with the pleasure of using our spare bedroom to host two out-of-town guests who were moving across the country. In September, we created new memories on an unforgettable trip to New York City for Labor Day Weekend.

October was a time to celebrate the history of AIM (where Jeff works) and to realize the many blessings in our lives (as well as the opportunities to bless others, such as an argyle-themed birthday party and a surprise shindig for a church friend). In November, we celebrated Thanksgiving with Mickey and Minnie (as well as Ashley’s family and your favorite Australian rock band). Ashley also started her first of two months in Boot Camp (an intense workout three days a week for three weeks at a despicable hour in the morning).  Jeff joined in on the fun in December, and we’re both happy to report significant results!  Jeff might even go for round two in January and maybe even three and four!

December has also been, of course, a time of celebration of the greatest gift in our life — the birth of our Savior. We hope that you’ll take this time to poke around on our blog (click any of the above links to read more highlights from our year) and to reflect on God’s goodness.

Have a Merry Christmas.

What, that wasn’t good enough? Still want more? Read last year’s Christmas letter.
